Digital Fire and its partner agency CSI joined Philips in kicking off the 6th consecutive Philips Cape Town to Cairo roadshow on a high note when they lit up the Clock Tower at the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town.

Reducing energy consumption with up to 80%

Accompanied by amazing fireworks and sound, the Clock Tower was lit with a spectacular array of lights and colours, celebrating the beginning of the annual roadshow which is aimed at advancing healthcare and energy efficient lighting solutions across Africa. Along with lighting up the iconic Clock Tower in Cape Town, the #C2CRoadshow will journey across Africa to shed some light on key sustainability issues facing the lighting and healthcare sector, lighting up Casablanca, Accra, Lagos and Nairobi to name but a few.  And not only is the Philips LED lights pretty to look at, but it has also reduced energy consumption with up to 80% during last year’s #C2CRoadshow.

12 000 km, 11 cities and 8 countries

The Philips Cape Town to Cairo roadshow, which starts in Cape Town this year, will cover over 12 000 kilometers across 8 countries over a period of 4.5 months. The roadshow, which focuses on providing sustainable lighting and healthcare solutions for key issues facing Africa, will be building on the successful achievements of the previous years, with clinical education and healthcare training continuing to be a priority. The roadshow champions the UN Millennium Development Goals, reducing infant mortality and improving maternal access to healthcare.
